INIFINITI G35 Timing Chains FAQs
What Do INFINITI G35 Timing Chains Do?
The timing chain helps the crankshaft and camshaft operate in sync with one another, so that the valves and pistons work in unison That keeps the engine in your INFINITI G35 executive car running right.
What Is The Difference Between Timing Chains and Timing Belts?
While timing chains and timing belts serve the same purpose, they're not the same thing. Timing belts are much likelier to fail, due to their construction and materials, so they need to be replaced every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Your timing chain should last the entire lifetime of your engine, though it's not unheard of for one to fail. That's not ideal, since your engine will stop running as a result.
How Do You Spot Timing Chain Issues?
It's not always obvious when your timing chain is about to go bad, though. Some signs of trouble include:
- Engine misfires
- Reduced or complete loss of engine power
- You hear a deafening crack, which is the sound of the chain breaking
