Genuine INFINITI G37 Trunk Spoilers
The G37 rear spoiler is one of those parts that is equal parts function and appearance. INFINITI designed it to help with aerodynamics and rear downforce, and it also happens to be the single change that most clearly separates a G37 from a stock-looking sedan. Part K6030-JL29B is the genuine rear spoiler for this car.
Coupe and Sedan Are Not the Same
This is the first thing to sort out. The G37 was built as a coupe, a sedan and a convertible, and the deck lid shape differs across them, so the spoiler and its hardware differ too. The catalog reflects that: the spoiler clip 01553-06521 is listed for coupe and sedan, while the spoiler grommet 85099-4N210 is coupe only and applies from 7/02 production forward. A spoiler ordered on model year alone can arrive and simply not match the curve of your deck lid.
Order the Hardware With the Spoiler
A spoiler is held on by clips and grommets that are designed to be sacrificial. If you are removing an old spoiler, or if yours has started to lift at one end, expect the clips to be part of the job. They are inexpensive, they are on this page, and they are the difference between a spoiler that sits flush and one that whistles at highway speed.
While the Deck Lid Is Open
The page also carries trunk lid lift supports. These are the gas struts that hold the deck lid up, and they fail slowly enough that most owners stop noticing the lid creeping down until it lands on their head. If you are already working on the deck lid, replacing them is a ten minute addition, and it is far easier with the spoiler off than after it is installed.
Before You Order
Confirm body style, production date and whether your car already has the mounting holes drilled. Add your vehicle or enter your VIN so the catalog filters to your build, and check the finish: a spoiler that needs paint is a different project from one that arrives ready to mount.
Painted or Primed
Check which version you are ordering. A spoiler that comes in primer needs painting to your exterior code before it goes on, and matching a ten year old finish takes a body shop, not a rattle can. If yours arrives pre-painted in the factory color, the install becomes an afternoon with a socket set. Either way, get your paint code off the door jamb sticker before ordering rather than after, because the color name on a listing is not precise enough on a car this age. Finally, think about the holes. Some G37s left the factory with the deck lid already drilled for a spoiler and some did not. If yours is undrilled, installing one is a permanent change to the panel, so it is worth being sure about the look before the drill comes out. A shop can do it cleanly, but it cannot be undone.
