Your INFINITI Q50 sedan features a radiator that's responsible for helping to keep the engine running at an optimal temperature. It does so by sending a fluid -- usually a mixture of coolant and water -- through hoses to and from the engine.

How Radiators Work

The cooling liquid is first sent through inlet hoses from the radiator to the engine block. There, it collects heat that's been building up in the many engine parts. The fluid then returns through outlet hoses to the radiator, where that heat dissipates into the atmosphere through the radiator's large, flat, finned surface.

Even the best radiator can eventually go bad, though. When that happens, you run the risk of your engine overheating. If you go too long without addressing the issue, you can even suffer significant engine damage.

How to Spot Radiator Problems

Fortunately, it's not hard to tell when your radiator's going bad. Signs of trouble include:

  • Odd noises coming from your engine
  • You see red, green, or yellow liquid pooling under your sedan
  • You notice the sweet, syrupy smell of coolant
  • Your temperature gauge starts climbing
  • You can't maintain a consistent cabin temperature
  • The dashboard warning light comes on

If your radiator's acting up, flush the system first and add new coolant. If it's still not working right, you'll need to replace the failing parts. INFINITI makes the only radiator and cooling parts that are guaranteed to be compatible with your sedan, and our online parts store has them in stock and ready to ship. Even better, we sell those parts at a steep discount to the MSRP others demand. Buy now to save both time and money!
