Genuine INFINITI Q50 Floor Mats

Factory mats are what stands between the Q50 carpet and everything your shoes bring in. Once salt or coffee soaks past the mat into the carpet, no cleaning fully reverses it, and the carpet is not a part you replace casually. Mats are, which is the whole argument for buying the right ones and replacing them when they wear.

Sport Mats and Standard Sets

The catalog carries both. The Sport floor mats, such as part 999E2-J6101 in beige, are built to replace the factory-installed set outright rather than sit on top of it, so the fit is the same as what left the plant. There are also standard mat sets and individual mats, which is the right choice when only the driver mat has worn through at the heel. Beyond the mats themselves the page carries a trunk mat and a mud flap, plus the floor pans underneath.

The Anchor System Is the Safety Part

INFINITI front mats secure with a grommet hole and positioning hook. It sounds like a detail and it is not. A mat that slides forward can foul the pedals, and that is exactly the failure mode of a universal mat cut to approximately the right shape. When you replace mats, check that the hooks in the floor are still there and intact. If a grommet in the old mat has torn out, the new mat will not anchor either until the hook is sorted.

Color Matters as Much as Size

Mats are cataloged by color as well as by model, so beige and black are different part numbers for the same car. Match the interior you actually have rather than the one in the photos, and if the car has been reupholstered at some point, check before ordering.

What Is Under the Mat

The page also reaches floor pans, which come up when water has been sitting under the carpet from a plugged sunroof drain or a door seal. If the carpet under the mat feels damp, a new mat hides the symptom while the corrosion continues. Find the leak first, then put the new mats in.

All-Weather Versus Carpeted

Most owners end up with two sets and swap them with the seasons. Rubber all-weather mats have raised edges that trap slush, salt and whatever comes off a job site, and they hose off in a minute. Carpeted mats look right in a car that stays clean and matter more at trade-in time. Buying both once costs less than replacing ruined carpet, and it keeps the good set looking new for the years the car is on the road. One more habit worth having: pull the mats out every few months and look at the carpet underneath, particularly along the driver footwell and the sills. Dampness there is the earliest sign of a leak, and mats hide it perfectly until the smell arrives. Catching it while the carpet is only wet is a very different repair from catching it once the floor pan has started to corrode.
